- An
e-mail account must be established first. Click here to get instruction on
how to open one.
- The
disk space limit on an MUW account is 5MB (this includes mail and web
files).
- The
web site must not be used for any profit or commercial use.
- A
web directory is automatically created when an e-mail account is
established. The address to
the personal web page is: http://www2.muw.edu/~youruserid
- All
web content must be within public_html directory under the user?s personal
account.
- The
default web page must be named ?index.html? or ?index.htm?.
- The
contents of the web site can be created locally and then be transferred to
the server. Since there
are several software packages, the details on how to accomplish this task
are beyond this document.
- MUW
reserves the right to terminate this service at any time.
Example:
Joe
Doe, who is graduating in 2001, has a valid e-mail address on MUW server (jdoe@MUW.Edu).
- His
web site address is: http://www2.muw.edu/~jdoe
- His
web directory path on MUW server is: /home/students/2001/jdoe/public_html
- He
created his default page using Netscape Composer. To publish his files from
Composer, he used:
ftp://www2.muw.edu/home/students/2001/jdoe/public_html/
- He
named his default page ?index.html?
- Both
?index.html? and ?index.htm? can be used to be his default page.
